Ryukyu Kobujutsu is the ancient martial art of Weapon Techniques from the Ryukyu Islands. Ottawa Chito Kai offers courses in Ryukyu Kobujutsu and is a member of the Canadian Ryukyu Kobujutsu Association that is mandated to preserve and promote the teachings of Ryukyu martial arts.
For those interested, whether you are a beginner or a senior student, Ottawa Chito Kai offers you a structured environment that leads you eventually to a black belt in Kobujutsu.
The OCK provides the serious martial artist with a unique and traditional system that is taught by certified instructors (all black belts are authorised by Misho Inoue, Supreme Instructor, Japan). The curriculum covers the eight traditional weapons taught by Taira Sensei and passed down by Inoue Sensei.
These weapons are the Bo, Sai, Tonfa, Kama, Tekko, Nunchaku, Tinbe-Rochin, and Surujin.
