What is Chito-Ryu?

Chito  -  Ryu 

Karate was  created   by

Dr. Tsuyoshi Chitose.

The  style  he developed

was      created     with 

efficiency and continued

practice in mind. In  the

earlier   years,    karate 

training caused damage 

to the body. Dr. Chitose

wanted  to create a style

and means of practice

that   would   not   pose

harmful  effects  on  the 

body. Dr. Chitose stated

that Chito-Ryu  is based 

on  the understanding 

of  anatomy  and

physiology.

 

Child Fitness Tax Credit

As of 2007 the government of Canada has implemented the Children's Fitness Tax Credit program. Our Karate Club membership fees are eligible to be used towards the tax credit program.

Some of the highlights of the requirements are as follows: 

  • The programs are eligible for the tax credit if they last at least eight weeks at a minimum of one session per week
  • For children 10 and under 30 minutes of sustained moderate to vigorous physical activity per session.
  • For children 10 and above 60 minutes of sustained moderate to vigorous physical activity

An eligible program of prescribed physical activity, for the purposes of the credit, will be defined as


An ongoing, supervised program, suitable for children, in which substantially all of the activities undertaken include a significant amount of physical activity that contribute to cardio-respiratory endurance, plus one or more of:

 

  • muscular strength
  • muscular endurance
  • flexibility
  •
